Job summary

The Laboratory Assistant Specialist I at Moffitt Immunoncology & Molecular Services will ensure proper handling of specimens and prepare them for testing across Cytology, Flow Cytometry, Hematology, Histology, Microbiology, Molecular Diagnostics and Specimen Processing. You will perform accessioning, data entry, and various support tasks under supervision.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Handle specimens in clinical and anatomic pathology labs and prepare for testing.
• Perform data entry, accessioning, and order processing activities.
• Carry out centrifugation, aliquoting, slide prep, packing and shipping.
• Assist in registration, billing tasks, and patient care procedures as needed.
• Support aseptic techniques and troubleshoot specimen/order issues.
