Job summary

Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant - PRN Days to join our trusted lab team in Arlington, TX. This role supports specimen collection, patient identification, labeling, and test result reporting in a busy hospital laboratory.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent and preferred phlebotomy experience or one semester course; PBT(ASCP) certification is preferred upon hire. PRN days, weekend coverage.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; CLIA compliance for foreign education equivalency.
  • Six months experience as a phlebotomist or completion of a one semester course in phlebotomy preferred.
  • PBT(ASCP) Phlebotomy Technician preferred upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform specimen collection, patient identification and labeling according to age of patient.
  • Perform procedures in other areas of the Laboratory as required by hospital entity.
  • Report and evaluate test results.
  • Assist other hospital and laboratory coworkers to provide timely patient care.

Work location: Texas Health Arlington Memorial, 800 W. Randol Mill Rd. Arlington, TX 76012

Work hours: PRN (As Needed) - Days, Saturday and Sunday, 0500-1330.

We’re a 369-bed, acute-care, full-service hospital serving our community since 1958. Our location in central Arlington provides convenient care to people in the DFW Metroplex and surrounding areas.

We specialize in comprehensive medical/surgical care, cancer care, women’s services, behavioral health, neurosciences and emergency medicine. Plus, we’re a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, Level III Maternal Newborn care unit and a Level III Trauma Center. What You’ll Need

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required. (Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency is required. CLIAFE)
  • Six (6) months experience as a phlebotomist or completion of a one semester course in phlebotomy is highly preferred.
  • PBT(ASCP) - Phlebotomy Technician is preferred upon hire.

What You'll Do

  • For those entities performing phlebotomy, employees follow laboratory procedure for specimen collection, patient identification and labeling as appropriate for the age of the patient
  • Performs procedures in other areas of the Laboratory as required by hospital entity
  • Reports and evaluates test results
  • Helps other hospital and laboratory coworkers to provide timely patient care
