A leading healthcare provider is seeking a phlebotomist for their clinical laboratory in Gallatin, TN. The role involves collecting blood specimens, processing tests, and maintaining laboratory supplies under the guidance of a medical technologist. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, preferably from a phlebotomy program, along with critical skills for independent work in a hospital environment.
Collects and processes blood specimens for testing in the laboratory.
Reports to: Phlebotomy Supervisor
Under the supervision and direction of a medical technologist and in accordance with CLAI88 guidelines, performs pre- and post-analytical test processing in the clinical lab, which may include:

Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduation from a formal phlebotomy program with at least 40 hours of clinical experience or certification preferred.
Required Skills: BLS certification from an approved American Heart Association or Red Cross training center within 90 days of employment. CPT certification or similar professional certification preferred. Must possess critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently in stressful environments.
Minimum Work Experience: Two years of phlebotomy or accessioning experience in a hospital setting, or six months of successful performance at Sumner Regional Medical Center, or enrollment in a clinical laboratory science program.
