Responsibilities

• Assesses urgency of tests and prioritizes tasks.
• Prepares specimens, verifies patient identification, and arrangements for recollection if needed.
• Maintains equipment, documents quality controls, troubleshoots and keeps the work area clean.
• Prepares reagents for test performance.
• Calculates, reports and records test results; analyzes for critical values and reports promptly.
• Oversees and participates in Quality Assessment activities and resolves issues.
