Job summary

Eastside Medical Center is seeking a phlebotomy technician to perform sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests, and to obtain and prepare blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies. The role includes performing venipunctures and assisting the technical team in non-clinical tasks.

No experience is required, but 1 year of phlebotomy experience and EKG ability are preferred, along with experience in healthcare or clinical laboratory settings and CPT certification if

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• No experience required; 1 year phlebotomist experience preferred.
• Experience performing EKGs preferred.
• Experience in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (CPT) from ASCP/ASPT/NCA or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests as per CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and applicable standards.
• Performs venipunctures where applicable and prepares blood specimens per Piedmont policies.
• Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.
