Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Laboratory Non-Technical Supervisor, the Clinical Lab Assistant performs phlebotomy using various venipuncture techniques to collect blood from patients of all ages. The role involves handling clinical specimens, preparing them for analysis or transport, and adhering to safety, infection control, and OSHA Blood Borne Pathogen guidelines.

Work Hours

1 PM - 9:30 PM, including weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Phlebotomy training with externship preferred; healthcare experience and clinical support experience are advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain and process venous and capillary blood samples from patients of all ages.
• Process clinical specimens for laboratory analysis and transport.
• Perform duties within assigned work blocks and maintain compliance with departmental policies.
• Assist in specimen processing area maintenance and disinfection.
• Travel to off-site locations for phlebotomy collections as needed (Concord site only).
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
