Job summary

Texas Health Plano is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Assistant – Laboratory to support the laboratory operations in Plano. This PRN role includes overnight and weekend shifts, reviewing results daily and assisting with specimen handling.

You will work with a team, follow CLIA regulations, and have opportunities for growth within the Texas Health system. A high school diploma and phlebotomy training meet the requirements; ASCP preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Six months’ phlebotomy experience or completion of a one-semester phlebotomy course.
• PBT(ASCP) - Phlebotomy Technician upon hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily review of results from the department.
• Collects samples and handles labeling according to patient age.
• Follows safety guidelines and laboratory procedures for specimen handling.
• Performs procedures in other areas of the Laboratory as required.
• Contributes to multiple projects or committees if needed.
