Job summary

Springfield Technical Community College is seeking a part-time Clinical Laboratory Assistant for the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program. The role reports to the Program Coordinator and the Dean of the School of Health and Patient Simulation, supporting student labs and clinical education while ensuring safety and compliance.

Candidates must be MA-licensed OT or OTA with at least two years of clinical experience, capable of lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds infrequently.

Qualifications

• Evidence of contemporary OT practice in ambulatory or inpatient settings.
• Licensed in MA as OT or OTA.
• Knowledge of ACOTE accreditation guidelines.
• Ability to lift 50 lb regularly; 75 lb infrequently.
• Strong communication with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide lab support and instruction to students.
• Support SHPS mission and clinical education needs.
• Interact professionally with students and staff.
• Maintain safety of lab equipment and space.
• Attend departmental, school, and college meetings.
• Assist faculty in evaluating student performance.
• Supervise students during outpatient clinic activities.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Complete mandatory compliance training.
