Job summary

ADVOCATE AT HOME is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Assistant in Indian Trail, NC. This full-time, on-site role supports specimen handling, labeling, and routine testing under supervision. You will help maintain equipment, monitor supplies, and ensure accurate documentation to meet regulatory standards.

You will collaborate with clinicians and lab staff, follow established protocols, and communicate clearly to support timely, reliable test results and patient care.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Laboratory Medicine and Laboratory Skills to support specimen handling and routine testing procedures.
• Candidates should be proficient in operating and caring for Laboratory Equipment to ensure safe and accurate performance.
• Candidates should demonstrate clear Communication abilities to work effectively with clinicians, laboratory personnel, and other team members.
• Candidates should have a solid understanding of Medical Terminology to accurately interpret orders and documentation.
• Attention to detail, adherence to safety and infection control protocols, basic computer proficiency, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Completion of a medical laboratory assistant or related healthcare program, or equivalent experience in a clinical laboratory setting, is preferred.
• Certification or eligibility as a laboratory assistant or phlebotomist, and prior experience in hospital or outpatient laboratory environments, is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specimens, label and organize samples, and perform routine laboratory procedures under supervision.
• Maintain and clean laboratory equipment and monitor supply levels.
• Assist with documentation to ensure accurate recordkeeping and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with clinical staff and follow established protocols and safety guidelines.
