Requires a High School Diploma or GED, lab training or coursework, and familiarity with medical terminology. Full-time, 9-hour shifts from 4:00 am to 2:30 pm with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of laboratory training/experience or 3 quarters of college lab coursework.
• Familiarity with medical terminology is a strong asset.
• Prior experience with LIS and HIS is highly desirable.
• Must be able to perform light physical work and lifting under 40 pounds.
• Occasional exposure to infectious materials or hazardous substances.

Responsibilities

• Process specimens promptly upon receipt in the laboratory.
• Process or collect critical samples immediately.
• Know specimen requirements and research when needed.
• Know basic LIS functions and troubleshoot using logs.
• Call overdue tests and verify orders; resolve issues promptly.
• Organize and prioritize workload for efficiency and accuracy.
