Job summary

Duties include data entry, accessioning, and various specimen processing tasks such as centrifugation, aliquoting, slide preparation, packaging, and shipping of referral materials.

All work is under supervision of a technologist or supervisor. The role emphasizes accuracy, attention to detail, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to multi-task in a busy environment.
• Strong oral communication and data entry skills.
• Accessioning and specimen handling under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Handle specimens received in the clinical and anatomic pathology laboratories.
• Data entry and accessioning of orders.
• Prepare specimens for testing.
• Perform centrifugation, aliquoting, slide preparation, packaging.
• Ship referral laboratory specimens and transport to the testing departments.
• Work under supervision of a technologist, Lead Lab Assistant, Supervisor, or laboratory director.
