• Performs patient registration and test ordering, verifies patient information, ensures timely specimen handling.
• Evaluates and prepares specimens for testing, ensuring proper labeling, distribution, storage, and processing according to established guidelines.
• Assists with loading of samples, operates and troubleshoots laboratory equipment as required.
• Monitors and manages supply inventory, checks expiration dates, stores items, and keeps storage areas organized.
• Demonstrates proficiency in HIS and LIS software applications for job-related functions.
• Assists with training of new team members or students and completes mandatory continuing education.
• Follows PPE protocols and maintains a clean, safe workspace.
• Follows approved standard operating policies and procedures.
