Job summary

Fives DyAG Corp. in Clifton, NJ is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant for a 3+ month assignment. The role supports laboratory staff by performing routine lab tasks, preparing specimens and reagents, and maintaining QA/QC procedures in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Sort, receive specimens in the department.
• Perform routine instrument maintenance.
• Handle centrifugation, labeling, data recording, storage and retrieval.
• Prepare reagents and media.
• Prepare specimens for testing, build worklists, aliquot, check clots and fibrin, inoculate, slide prep.
• Perform QA/QC duties.
• Resolve pending lists and find missing samples.
• Decontaminate work areas.
• Perform weekly radioactive wipe tests.
• Maintain department records and files.
• Change gas cylinders.
• Follow PPE and safety regulations.
• Use laboratory computer systems and PCs.
• Dispose biohazardous waste.
• Complete training and competency checklists.

Job: Clinical Lab Assistant Duration: 3+ Months Shift: 3p-1130p Location: Clifton, NJ07012

OB SUMMARY

Perform the daily activities as described below. Basic Purpose: Perform various routine laboratory functions in a precise and accurate fashion to assist the laboratory professional staff and to facilitate production.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Sorting, and receiving specimens in the department.
• Performs routine instrument maintenance on some equipment.
• Performs laboratory tasks of centrifuging specimens, printing extra labels, recording data (temperature charts) specimen storage and retrieval.
• Preparing reagents and or media in the department.
• Preparing specimens at workstations for testing. (Including building worklists, aliquoting specimens into sample cups, checking specimens for clots and fibrin, inoculation, slide preparation)
• Performs QA/QC duties as assigned.
• Resolves pending lists.
• Finds missing samples.
• Decontaminates work areas.
• Performs weekly radioactive wipe tests.
• Maintains files for department records.
• Changes gas cylinders.
• Follows all PPE requirements and all safety regulations.
• Uses the laboratory computer system as well as operates PCs.
• Disposes of biohazardous material.
• Completes training and competency checklists as appropriate.
