Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years of accessioning experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of the entire Accessioning Process.

Responsibilities

• Receives, sorts and performs accurate data entry for all specimens entering the laboratory.
• Receives and processes written/electronic physician requests for routine or STAT tests.
• Follows handling requirements for specific specimens to ensure quality.
• Identifies and documents issues that may affect test performance and notifies management.
• Rejects incorrect or inappropriate specimens and re-tests as needed.
• Performs clerical duties to support the department and answers/directs calls.
• Retrieves, prints and faxes test results and cumulative reports via the lab system.
• Processes and files form requests, records and related paperwork.
