Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver clinical instruction based on approved syllabi, utilizing effective teaching methods; develop lesson plans; advise and tutor students; maintain accurate attendance and grade records; stay current in the field; participate in faculty meetings, seminars, and training sessions.
  2. Serve as an educator, role model, mentor, and facilitator.
  3. Focus on facilitating student learning aligned with course and program outcomes.
  4. Participate in assessments of student learning to ensure achievement of prescribed outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
  1. At least 3 years of occupational experience in the relevant field or a related area.
  2. Recent (within 5 years) direct patient care experience in the nursing area, demonstrated by:
    1. One year of continuous, full-time or equivalent RN patient care experience in the designated nursing area; OR
    2. One academic year of RN-level clinical teaching experience demonstrating clinical competency.
  3. Experience teaching courses related to registered nursing or completion of a post-baccalaureate course with practical teaching components.
  4. Training in educational methods, testing, and evaluation, with demonstrated strength in instructional techniques, evaluated within 30 days of starting.
  5. Experience with online learning management systems is desirable.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
Educational Requirements
  1. Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution, including coursework in nursing or relevant sciences (BRN regulation).
  2. At least one year of teaching experience related to RN courses or completion of a post-baccalaureate teaching program (BRN regulation).
Licenses and Certifications
  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse License in California.
Additional Information

Salary Range: USD $87,964.06 - USD $127,521.21 per year. Bonus eligible: No.
