General Description

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics seeks a Clinical Instructor of Mathematics responsible for coordinating and overseeing the Algebra program, providing academic leadership, leading the Algebra Step‑Back program, ensuring consistency across all sections, and supervising and mentoring graduate teaching assistants.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee the Algebra program.
  • Provide academic leadership for Algebra coordination.
  • Lead the Algebra Step‑Back program.
  • Ensure consistency across all sections in course structure, assessments, grading, and expectations for GTAs and instructors.
  • Supervise and mentor GTAs teaching algebra courses.
  • Facilitate regular meetings, training sessions, and communication with algebra instructors.
  • Collaborate with lower division directors and other stakeholders on curriculum and assessment.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in the field of instruction or a related discipline by the employment start date.
  • Experience in undergraduate mathematics instruction and curriculum coordination.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to supervise and mentor graduate teaching assistants.
  • Background check and possibly a credit check required.
