Overview

The Role of Medical Economics

Through collaboration and continuous performance tracking, Med Econ maximizes value across the enterprise.

Job Summary

We are seeking a strategic and analytical leader to drive actionable insights and decision support across Clinical functions. This role will lead the Actionable Data Insights (ADI) framework, enabling Medical Directors and Clinical leadership to make data-informed decisions that improve affordability, efficiency, and patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will be a proactive collaborator, skilled in data story telling, and experienced in managing cross-functional portfolios.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Project Prioritization: Assess and prioritize Clinical initiatives across all markets. Collaborate with Clinical leads to ensure alignment and transparency in decision-making.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the Insights Lead for Medical Economics to align on priorities and support enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Market Intelligence & Cost Containment: Support the Clinical function to demonstrate benefits to markets engaging with the at affordability and actuarial forums. Share insights with the broader Medical Economics team to evaluate and refine cost containment strategies.
  • Dashboard Development: Design and maintain self-service dashboards for TCC (Total Cost of Care) leads to track team effectiveness, cost-benefit outcomes, and efficiency metrics.
  • Strategic Consultation: Advise Clinical teams on market trends, initiative performance, and strategic direction to support planning and execution.
  • Savings & Impact Sizing: Quantify the financial impact of new and existing Clinical programs to support planning and decision-making.
  • Portfolio Management: Manage the Medical Economics project portfolio for Clinical, including intake coordination with Data & Analytics and Technology teams.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Present insights and recommendations to stakeholders, driving action and alignment across Clinical and Medical Economics domains.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Health Economics, Data Science, Public Health, Business Analytics, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in healthcare analytics, medical economics, or clinical strategy.
  • Strong analytical experience with healthcare claims data.
  • Proven stakeholder management skillswith the ability to influence and collaborate across functions.
  • Medical knowledgeincluding understanding of clinical procedures, terminology, and coding standards (e.g., ICD-10, CPT).
  • Proficiency inExcel, SQL, Tableau and Qlik Sense; experience withAlteryxis advantageous.
  • Strongcritical thinking,communication, anddocumentationskills.
  • Experience working in matrixed, cross-functional environments.
