Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Clinical Informatics for Analytics & Interfaces, the Clinical Informatics Data Analyst is responsible for developing, designing, and maintaining critical business reports based on data from multiple sources. This role supports the Care Connections team by extracting, validating, and analyzing data to measure and monitor department initiatives. Additionally, the analyst will participate in planning, developing, and implementing new builds/upgrades for the electronic medical record system, Epic.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain centralized reports to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Manage internal and external data load processes.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve issues.
  • Use BI tools to support strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure data integrity for departmental reporting and integration into Epic.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses to address inquiries and resolve anomalies.
  • Integrate external data sources and identify automation opportunities.
  • Provide comprehensive data analysis, including quantitative and qualitative insights, patterns, and trends.
  • Maintain code using Azure DevOps for version control.
  • Meet departmental and individual performance goals.
  • Document all responsibilities thoroughly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Proficiency with SQL.
  • Experience with report development using SSRS and Power BI.
  • Experience with Databricks.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools such as SSIS or Azure Data Factory.
  • Strong critical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify data gaps and review reports or processes critically.
  • Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Curiosity, creativity, and willingness to learn new tools and platforms.
  • Strong time management skills for handling multiple projects.
  • Familiarity with version control tools like TFS or Azure DevOps.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.

Job Qualifications

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Required Experience

  • 3-5 years of SQL programming experience.
  • 2-3 years of BI engineering experience.
  • 2-3 years of business intelligence development experience.

Preferred Education

Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields is preferred.
