OVERVIEW

At Orion, we are seeking a Clinical Informatics Analyst with strong Cerner expertise to support clinical systems, workflows, and order set updates in both inpatient and ambulatory environments. This opportunity plays a critical part in bridging clinical operations and IT to promote quality outcomes, user satisfaction, and efficient use of health technologies.

PROJECT

6-month contract-to-hire; Fully Remote (U.S. – Central Time Zone)

SALARY (W2)

$110,000 – $125,000

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support optimization of clinical information systems to enhance patient care, safety, clinician productivity, and workflow efficiency.
  • Lead and facilitate moderately complex projects and clinical system enhancement initiatives.
  • Analyze current state workflows, determine clinical and organizational needs, and recommend improvements or new solutions.
  • Collaborate with clinicians to assess current technology use and determine future needs.
  • Map and recommend improvements to existing workflows to align with integrated system design.
  • Provide guidance to workgroups and assist with resolving escalated issues.
  • Ensure compliance with health information policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Design and deliver training and educational materials for clinical users.
  • Lead workgroups for system design and recommendations; conduct competency validation with clinicians.
  • Develop and report project status updates to leadership; facilitate user acceptance testing and scenario planning.
  • Resolve sensitive project issues and integrate planning to achieve strategic health IT goals.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for local Health Ministry requirements, policies, and processes.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and propose changes to improve system usability.
  • Support and execute updates to local Cerner order sets and EHR configurations.

KEY EXPERIENCE

  • Strong experience with Cerner, particularly orders build and optimization.
  • Deep understanding of data flow and usage within electronic medical records (EMRs).
  • Familiarity with clinical workflows across ambulatory and acute care settings.
  • Experience with healthcare terminologies such as SNOMED CTTM, LOINC, ICD-10, CPT, RxNorm, and CVX.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to work independently in high-pressure environments.
  • Strong background in training delivery, clinical informatics, and customer service.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Informatics, Healthcare, or a related technology field (or equivalent experience).
