Job summary

CommonSpirit Health seeks a Clinical Informaticist to lead planning, implementation, and sustainment of HIT with clinical expertise. You will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure HIT strategies meet patient care needs and guide ongoing system optimization and quality reporting.

The role requires strong understanding of clinical processes and HIT, plus excellent organizational and communication skills across healthcare teams.

Qualifications

  • BS Clinical Degree or equivalent required; clinical licensure preferred.
  • EPIC proficiency or credentialing within one year of hire.
  • Two years of experience using EMR in a clinic setting.
  • Located in or willing to commute to the Omaha area.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and plan EPIC implementations and functionality enhancements.
  • Provide oversight and end-to-end project management for HIT initiatives.
  • Deliver training to new hires and existing staff on EPIC features.
  • Review optimization requests and assess workflow impact.
  • Collaborate with EPIC vendors and internal teams to resolve issues.
  • Maintain proficiency in company-specific Clinical Informatics applications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Clinical Informaticist, you will lead and support the planning, implementation, and sustainment of clinical health information technology (HIT) with clinical understanding.

Every day you will collaborate with diverse stakeholders to ensure HIT strategies meet patient care needs, provide input on system impacts, and guide ongoing strategy for system optimization and quality reporting.

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate a deep understanding of clinical processes and HIT, coupled with strong organizational and communication skills across all levels of healthcare interaction.

  • Analyze and plan implementations of new EPIC functionality
  • Provide oversight and management of assigned projects from beginning to end of implementation
  • Provide training for new hires and existing staff on EPIC functionality
  • Perform technical review of new optimization requests and upgrade functionality to assess workflow impact
  • Collaborate with EPIC dedicated vendors and teams to research and resolve issues
  • Remain proficient in company specific applications supported by the Clinical Informatics Department
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Depending on licenses and qualifications, this position may be filled as a non-clinical informaticist or specialist
Job Requirements
Required:
  • BS Clinical Degree or equivalent e.g. Nursing, Pharmacist, Respiratory, PT/OT, Radiology, etc.
  • Valid clinical license required for clinical informaticist.
  • EPIC Proficient or Credentialed within one year of hire.
  • Two years experience in clinic setting using computerized EMR.
  • Located in or able to commute to the Omaha area.
Preferred:
  • EPIC Proficient or Credentialed
  • Informatics training and experience working with EMR
  • Masters' Degree in Computer science, MIS, Nursing, Informatics, Health admin, or related field
  • Project Management Professional Certification

For applicants without clinical experience or license, they may be considered for a similar role as informatics analyst
