Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Workers' Compensation Clinical Hygienist to administer the University's workers' compensation program and clinical compliance. The role coordinates and monitors safety programs and serves as the liaison to the State's Third-Party Administrator for workers' compensation.

You will ensure OSHA and NCOSHA compliance, update the OSHA 300 log, and support ergonomics initiatives while advising on regulatory requirements for UNC facilities.

Qualifications

• Four year degree with a preference for a related major in a physical, biological or environmental science; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Must possess a valid North Carolina driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
• Knowledge of applicable EHS rules and regulations (OSHA, NCOSHA, Joint Commission, DOT, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor the University’s workers' compensation and clinical safety programs.
• Serve as main liaison to the State's Third-Party Administrator (TPA) for workers' compensation.
• Maintain OSHA 300 log and ensure compliance with federal/state/university requirements.
• Aide in ergonomics program and respond to ergonomic inquiries.
• Administer CDL Alcohol and Substances program as required.

Skills

Valid NC driver’s license

Knowledge of OSHA/NCOSHA/Joint Comm.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in physical/biological/environmental science or related field
