Job summary

UNC Health Nash is seeking a Clinical Helper to assist in inpatient care during night shifts. This non-credentialed role supports the nursing team by performing essential basic care tasks for hospitalized patients.

Responsibilities include bathing, feeding, toileting assistance, turning patients, and basic device maintenance under supervision. Prior PCA experience and strong interpersonal skills are preferred to ensure compassionate care for our diverse patient population.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent is required.
• Current BCLS certification is required.
• Experience as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) is preferred.
• Superior interpersonal communication skills are expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic hands-on care for hospitalized patients under supervision.
• Assist nursing assistants with daily activities.
• Bathe, feed, and assist with toileting.
• Perform routine CHG baths and Foley maintenance as directed.
• Turn and reposition patients to prevent injuries.
• Support activity progression and patient comfort.
