BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina is looking for a Clinical Genetics Director who will be integral in the Molecular Diagnostic Program. This remote role involves managing operations, engaging with providers, and formulating policies. Candidates must have a PhD in genetics or an MD with extensive laboratory experience. Location: This position is full-time (40-hours/week) Monday-Friday working REMOTE in the U.S. or ONSITE at our 17 Technology Circle, Columbia, SC location You will work an 8-hour shift scheduled during our business hours of 8:00AM-5:00PM.
What You’ll Do:
Engages with providers and provides relevant education in regional, local, and national meetings.
Reviews current literature and formulates policy and direction for MoIDX.
Assists with technical assessments. Engages with technical staff for training and setting assessment guidelines.
Leads all aspects of MoIDX operational management.
Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) in germline or infectious disease testing for MoIDX.
To Qualify for This Position, You'll Need the Following:
Required Education: PhD in genetics or related field; OR Medical Doctor (MD) with current active medical license, without restriction.
Required Work Experience: 5 years experience in molecular laboratory testing, with 3 years experience in laboratory management. Experience may be concurrent.
Required Software and tools: Microsoft Office
Required Skills and Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service, organizational, and presentation skills.
Good judgment skills.
Proficiency in spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
Ability to persuade, negotiate, or influence others, and represent the company well.
Ability to work as a team member as well as a leader.
Required Licenses and Certificates:
Active, unrestricted medical license from the United States and in the state of hire and current board certification in a recognized specialty.
Board Certification by the American Board of Molecular Genetics or American Board of Pathology.
We Prefer That You Have the Following:
Clinical Laboratory Director experience strongly preferred
Exposure and experience with data analysis specifically aimed at clinical and program management.
Germline Testing experience
Statistics software skills
Preferred Licenses and Certificates: Molecular Genetic Pathology Board Certification or equivalent.
