Job summary

University of Miami Miller School of Medicine seeks a board-certified (or eligible) Clinical Geneticist to join the Division of Clinical and Translational Genetics. Focus on inborn errors of metabolism and metabolic genetic disease, with a mixed pediatric-adult caseload and active resident education.

This faculty member will help lead metabolic patient care, contribute to newborn screening follow-up, and engage in clinical research within a collaborative division.

Qualifications

• MD degree required.
• Board certification (or eligibility) in Clinical Genetics per ABMGG.
• Eligible for medical licensure in Florida.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient and inpatient clinical genetics consultations across pediatric-to-adult lifespan with focus on inborn errors of metabolism.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients referred through newborn screening; coordinate follow-up testing.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary genetics and metabolism teams; participate in teaching and supervision of residents.
• Order and interpret molecular and biochemical testing; provide treatment, prevention, genetic counseling, and family risk assessment.
• Contribute to resident education through didactics, case conferences, and bedside/clinic teaching.
• Engage in clinical or translational research and publish in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Participate in departmental committees and quality initiatives.
