Job summary

IEP Therapy is seeking a full-time Speech Language Pathologist in Aurora, IL, to provide essential speech and language therapy services to students in K-12 settings. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with teachers and families, develop treatment plans, and conduct assessments to support students' educational needs.

The ideal applicant will have a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders, possess strong communication skills, and be dedicated to improving children's lives through effective therapy.   • Must have a clear DOJ/FBI Livescan background check and TB clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments to determine eligibility and level of functioning.
  • Develop treatment plans with interdisciplinary team members.
  • Provide direct speech therapy services aligned with IEP goals.
  • Complete and maintain compliant IEPs and participate in reviews.
  • Consult with teachers and families to support communication skills.
  • Maintain accurate therapy notes and progress documentation.
  • Supervise SLPAs and monitor their supervision hours.

About the Role

Provide speech and language therapy services to students in K-12 school settings. Speech Language Pathologist Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct formalized and dynamic assessments to determine eligibility and level of functioning
  • Develop and coordinate treatment plans with interdisciplinary team members
  • Provide direct speech therapy services aligned with IEP goals
  • Complete and maintain compliant IEPs; participate in annual and triennial reviews
  • Consult with teachers and families to support generalization of communication skills
  • Maintain accurate therapy notes, assessment data, and progress documentation
  • Supervise and support SLPAs, including monitoring supervision hours (if applicable)
Speech-Language Pathologist Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
  • Clearances: DOJ/FBI Livescan background check and TB clearance required. Must be eligible to work in the US.
  • Skills: Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal abilities; knowledge of evidence-based practices and special education programs preferred.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Speech Language Pathologist Physical Demands
  • Environment: Occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and fumes.
  • Activity: Frequent engagement in tasks such as reaching, handling, standing, walking, and lifting items up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodations.
