Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Speech-Language Pathologist Clinical Fellow to join our team at The SPEAK Center for Language and Learning. This position offers a unique opportunity for a recent graduate to gain valuable clinical experience and mentorship in a dynamic and supportive environment focused on pediatric speech and language rehabilitation.

Responsibilities:

1. Participate in a structured clinical fellowship program under the supervision of licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs), gaining hands-on experience in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating communication disorders in children with developmental disabilities.
2. Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in pediatric clients, under the guidance of supervising SLPs.
3. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for children based on assessment findings and therapeutic goals, incorporating evidence-based interventions and strategies.
4. Provide direct therapeutic interventions to children with developmental disabilities, including articulation therapy, language intervention, fluency therapy, voice therapy, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies.
5. Collaborate closely with supervising SLPs and other members of the interdisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, physical therapists, psychologists, and educators, to ensure coordinated and holistic care for each child.
6. Engage families and caregivers in therapy sessions, providing education and support on strategies to promote communication and language development in everyday routines.
7. Participate in clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and reports, in compliance with clinic policies and regulatory standards.
8. Actively participate in clinical supervision and mentoring sessions with licensed SLPs, receiving feedback and guidance to enhance clinical skills and professional growth.
9. Stay current with research and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology through ongoing professional development and continuing education activities.

Qualifications:

1. Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
2. Eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) status as determined by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
3. Valid AZ State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
4. CPR/ First Aid/ Article 9 Training
5. Professional Liability Insurance
6. Strong academic background in speech-language pathology, including coursework in pediatric communication disorders.
7. Experience working with children with developmental disabilities.
8. Strong clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
9. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and families/caregivers.
10. Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, a self-starter.
11. Compassionate and client-centered approach to care, with a genuine commitment to supporting children and families on their journey to improved communication and quality of life.
