Principal Accountabilities

The Department of Psychology in the College of Health and Behavioral Sciences is seeking a full-time Clinical Faculty member for its Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.). This individual will teach, advise, and provide research supervision within the Psy.D. program. Applications will be evaluated beginning October 30th.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Teach graduate courses in the PsyD program
Participate in academic advising and mentorship of doctoral research projects
Assist in the ongoing development of the Psy.D. program, including curriculum updates, strategic planning, and admissions and accreditation processes, among others.
Scholarly activity that contributes to the field of clinical psychology is encouraged and preferred.
Ongoing professional development, training, and involvement in professional organizations

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Earned doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA -accredited program
Completion of an APA -accredited internship
Experience in clinical practice, teaching clinical psychology, and scholarly activity
Licensed or eligible for licensure as a psychologist in Rhode Island
Demonstrated use of innovative and effective teaching practices
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated capacity for collaboration, team building, self-direction, and innovation in educational programming
Commitment to preparing students to serve individuals from all cultural backgrounds and to strengthening the behavioral health workforce

Preferred Qualifications:

Ongoing involvement in clinical practice, which is encouraged and supported by the University
Deep knowledge of evidence-based practices
Experience in one or more of the following areas: health psychology, child and adolescent psychopathology, or psychological assessment
