Job summary

Brightli is seeking a licensed behavioral health professional to join the Connection Services team in St. Louis as a Clinical Evaluator.

You will conduct initial screenings and comprehensive assessments, establish provisional diagnoses, and determine appropriate treatment recommendations to connect clients with timely care. Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related behavioral health field.
  • Current Missouri licensure or provisional licensure as listed (LPC, PLPC, LCSW, LMSW, LP, PLP, PLMFT, or LMFT).
  • Knowledge of behavioral health assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, safety planning, and referral coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive screenings and diagnostic evaluations to identify needs, determine eligibility, and recommend appropriate services.
  • Connect individuals with mental health, substance use, and community-based programs that align with their needs and treatment goals.
  • Develop provisional diagnoses, treatment recommendations, and individualized plans based on assessment findings.
  • Provide brief therapeutic interventions, safety planning, and crisis support when appropriate.
  • Coordinate referrals and follow-up services to promote timely access to care and a positive client experience.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams and service providers to reduce barriers and support continuity of care.
  • Respond to urgent behavioral health needs through crisis assessment and coordination of emergency services.
  • Document assessments, clinical decisions, referrals, and client interactions accurately within required timeframes.

As a Clinical Evaluator, you will conduct initial screenings and comprehensive behavioral health assessments, establish provisional diagnoses, develop treatment recommendations, and connect individuals with appropriate services. You may also provide safety planning, crisis intervention, and brief therapy while collaborating with clinical teams to promote a seamless connection to care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Present educational information in community settings to promote behavioral health awareness and access to services.
  • Support program evaluation, grant activities, data collection, and departmental service goals as needed.
  • Maintain ethical, professional, and compliant clinical practices in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications
  • Possess a master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Hold current Missouri licensure or provisional licensure as an LPC, PLPC, LCSW, LMSW, LP, PLP, PLMFT, or LMFT.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of behavioral health assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, safety planning, and referral coordination.
  • Apply strong clinical judgment, critical-thinking skills, and evidence-based practices when evaluating client needs.
  • Maintain unrestricted licensure or provisional licensure applicable to the practice area and work location.
Additional Qualifications
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds, team members, referral sources, and community partners.
  • Exercise sound judgment, logical reasoning, and effective problem-solving during clinical decision-making.
  • Organize multiple assessments, referrals, documentation requirements, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform basic mathematical operations as needed to complete assigned responsibilities.
  • Protect client confidentiality while maintaining professional and ethical boundaries.
Physical Requirements
  • Perform sedentary work involving prolonged sitting with occasional standing or walking.
  • Exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
  • Use hands, fingers, and arms frequently for typing, writing, documentation, and computer work.
  • Maintain the ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
