Job summary

Altru Health System in Grand Forks, ND is seeking Biomed Technicians I-III to inspect, repair, maintain, and calibrate clinical equipment and systems under supervision of the Biomed Manager and senior technicians.

The role requires troubleshooting, interaction with clinical staff, and adherence to the Medical Equipment Management Plan. On-the-job training and career growth within the Biomed department are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year related experience
• Driver's License with Acceptable Driving Record
• Current State Licensed preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides technical assistance and instruction to hospital staff on equipment operations and maintenance.
• Performs planned maintenance, safety tests, and calibrate medical equipment as directed utilizing specialized equipment.
• Performs incoming inspections, attaches and assigns control numbers and labels, and acquires the necessary information for accurate database inventory entries.
• Performs all tasks in strict adherence to the departmental Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP).
• Reviews service requests and conveys course of action planned.
• Provide timely and accurate status reports to customers on a routine basis.
• Assists in ordering parts and supplies.
• Maintains accurate and thorough documentation and record keeping in a timely manner.
• Opens and closes work orders accurately and within required time.
• Troubleshoots and repairs a broad range of clinical equipment and system malfunctions.
• Provides front-line supervision, mentoring and training to junior technicians, as assigned.
• Participates in development of and conducts OJT sessions as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
