Role Summary

The Clinical Engineering Supervisor leads a team of technicians in the maintenance and repair of medical equipment, providing staff development, workload organization, customer support and finance management.

Responsibilities

• Manage budgets to ensure efficient operations.
• Supervise biomedical personnel.
• Provide technical training to employees on equipment operation, checkout, repairs, preventive maintenance, and quality assurance.
• Help evaluate new equipment and make recommendations on electrical and functional conformance to standards.
• Evaluate medical equipment problems and implement repairs, preventive maintenance, and calibration.
• Participate in hazard identification and medical device reporting procedures.
• Instruct customer personnel on safe equipment operation when necessary.
• Maintain inventory and records.
• Participate in on‑call rotation where appropriate.
• Perform other assigned tasks.

Qualifications

• Two‑year associate degree in electronics or biomedical equipment technology or equivalent technical program.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in the biomedical equipment field.
• CBET certification by the International Certification Commission preferred.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to diagnostic, therapeutic, and monitoring characteristics of clinical equipment.
• Theoretical and practical knowledge of electronic and mechanical technology and familiarity with reading circuit diagrams and mechanical schematics.
• Familiarity with relevant regulatory agencies, policies, codes, standards, and regulations applicable to clinical equipment.
• Familiarity with setup and application of all test equipment (electrical safety analyzer, digital multimeter, patient simulator, etc.).
• Understanding of quality indicators.
• Willingness to work flexible hours to support business needs.
