Job summary

MedStar Health in Maryland is seeking a Clinical Engineering leader to manage day-to-day operations and guide capital equipment planning. You will ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards and drive performance across the department.

The role requires 3-4 years of management experience, an Associate's degree, and certifications such as CBET/CHTM. You will lead staff, manage budgets, and collaborate with IT and procurement to improve equipment reliability.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in related field required.
  • Active pursuit of Associate's degree required.
  • 3-4 years of progressively responsible job-related or management experience required.
  • CBET or CHTM certification required at hire or within 2 years.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission accreditation requirements.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

  • Develops department goals, objectives, policies and procedures; ensures regulatory compliance.
  • Develops and manages department operating budget and resources per plan.
  • Selects, trains, orients and assigns staff; conducts performance management.
  • Oversees day-to-day operations across site(s) and region under leadership.
  • Participates in clinical capital equipment planning, budgeting and acquisitions.
  • Guides procurement proposals and vendor negotiations for equipment.
  • Produces quantitative and qualitative analyses and reports for leadership.
  • Maintains CMMS data accuracy and coordinates with Information Services.
  • Represents department on committees and in enterprise initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
