Job summary

Intermountain Health in Midvale, UT is seeking an entry‑level Clinical Engineering Tech I to maintain and service medical equipment across hospitals and clinics. This part‑time role provides hands‑on installation, calibration, and repair under supervision, with exposure to CMMS documentation and regulatory considerations.

The ideal candidate has foundational knowledge of medical equipment, strong problem solving, and good communication skills to support clinical staff and patients while working

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience working with Medical Equipment or maintaining / repairing equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Demonstrated ability to follow protocols and processes relating to equipment maintenance.
• Two years of experience in clinical engineering or an equivalent field is preferred.
• Associate of Applied Science Degree or completion of a Biomedical Technician Certificate Course is preferred. Education will be verified.

Monday-Friday with various hours.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
• Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.
• May have the same physical requirements as those of clinical or patient care jobs.
• For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
