Job summary

MLH is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Clerk in the Clinical Engineering department in Memphis. You will order, receive, issue, and track hardware and software inventory, maintain stock and par levels, and update the inventory control system to keep data accurate for daily operations.

You will support Clinical Engineering Associates by issuing stock efficiently and communicating with vendors, management, and customers.

Qualifications

  • Strong inventory control knowledge and process discipline.
  • Experience with ordering, receiving, issuing and tracking parts and equipment.
  • Familiarity with inventory databases and reporting tools.
  • Ability to read manuals and understand technical parts information.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to parts and supplies requests and suggest efficiencies.

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for ordering, receiving, issuing, tracking verifying, and documenting the hardware and software inventory within the Clinical Engineering department. Accountable for all inventory and responsible for organizing and maintaining stock and par levels. Updates the inventory control system so that accurate inventory information is available at all times. Oversees the issuance of stock so that optimum service is provided to the Clinical Engineering Associates. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

A Brief Overview

What you will do
  • Reviews, analyzes, and interprets historical inventory records to effectively project future stock levels. Recommends replenishment levels for all inventories to ensure product availability.
  • Responds to parts and supplies requests in a timely manner. Recommends solutions or procedural changes that will reduce expenses, enhance productivity, or increase customer service.
  • Maintains the Equipment and Inventory database systems to ensure that information is accurate maintained.
  • Provides management, customers, and vendors with timely and accurate information. Effectively communicates with appropriate parties, both verbally and in writing.
Education/Formal Training Requirements
  • Required - High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Preferred - Associates Degree Accounting
  • Preferred - Associates Degree Business
Work Experience Requirements
  • Required - Inventory 1-3 years
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated expertise in inventory control
  • Knowledge of parts ordering, receiving orders, and maintaining files and databases related to orders.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. Knowledge of Workday software desired.
  • Ability to understand technical information.
  • Skill and proficiency in oral and written communication. Typical mediums of communication include face-to-face dialog, telephone, documentation, presentations, memos, and electronic mail.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and to exercise sound judgment and initiative.
  • Ability to read and understand manuals and other documentation to determine parts information.

Physical Demands
  • Subject to standard office working conditions with intermittent exposure to noisy computer equipment.
  • Frequent travel required between sites.
  • Work requires the physical demands of standing, bending, lifting, stooping, or performing other work requiring moderate physical exertion (up to 50 pounds) and frequent walking.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move equipment up to 150 pounds with assistance.
