Job Overview:

RWJ Barnabas Health is looking to add a qualified part-time Clinical Endoscopy Technician (CET) in Somerville, NJ. The Clinical Endoscopy Technician (CET) is a caregiver who assists the Endoscopy team during endoscopy procedures and assists in the preparation of the suite between cases.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 2 year of Endoscopy experience
  • On Call

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • BLS certified from American Heart Association (AHA)

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Day Shift, 20 hours/week
  • Part-time Schedule

Essential Functions:

  • The CET works under the direct supervision of the Endoscopy physician and/or Registered Nurse.
  • Applies clinical knowledge and technical skills to assist during Endoscopy procedures under the direction of the physician or RN
  • Reviews planned cases and ensures all necessary equipment and devices are available on the unit.
  • Sets up required equipment in anticipation of cases
  • Assists with room turnover, breaking down room and cleaning endoscopy equipment in accordance with infection control guidelines and manufacturer instructions for use
  • Oversees the care, handling and maintenance of endoscopy equipment
  • Troubleshoots basic technical problems with equipment and initiates repairs as needed.
  • Maintains knowledge of current manufacturer's guidelines.
  • Responsible in transporting patients to and from the floor, and assisting RN in discharging patients to home.
