Job summary

Broadlawns Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Educator for a full-time role, Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, to coordinate staff education, in-services, and continuing education. The educator will facilitate groups, support process improvements, and assist with clinical staff orientation.

The position requires a nursing-related degree and RN licensure with 5 years clinical experience, plus strong computer and adult learning skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field or ASN with 2 years’ experience as a clinical program educator; bachelor’s degree to be completed.
• 5 years clinical experience.
• Current IA RN license.
• Competent in basic computer skills (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Willingness to pursue ongoing traditional and non-traditional educational opportunities.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments/projects.
• Self-directed and requires minimal supervision.
• Ability to teach basic computer skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others.
• Knowledge of educational principles or adult learning theories and ability to present to large groups.

• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates staff development programs.
• Plans, coordinates and implements orientation for clinical staff.
• Facilitates skill training and competency assessment.
• Acts as a resource for staff development and education.
• Interprets policies between departments.
• Facilitates groups and team-building activities.
• Participates in professional meetings and continuing education.
• Supports organizational improvements and learning opportunities.
