Job summary

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center Nursing Department seeks a GS-12 Nurse (Clinical Educator) to serve as senior clinical expert for a designated patient population/program of care. The role reports to a Nurse Manager for a unit or clinic in the specialty area.

Qualified candidates will hold a graduate nursing degree, have NCLEX-RN licensure, and demonstrate at least one year of specialized federal experience at GS-11 level, with CGFNS applicable for foreign-educated nurses.

Qualifications

• Completion of a graduate or higher nursing degree from an accredited program.
• Current, active NCLEX-RN licensure required.
• CGFNS certification required for foreign-educated nurses if applicable.
• At least one year of specialized experience at GS-11 in Federal service.

Responsibilities

• Assess learning and training needs of newly hired nursing staff.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate orientation programs for new staff.
• Coordinate in-service trainings for nursing staff.
• Collaborate with Service Educators and Central Nurse Educators on program needs and SOPs.
