Job summary

Silver Cross Hospital is seeking a NICU Nurse Educator to join our Nursing Administration team in Illinois. The Educator will apply the nursing process across practice, education, consultation and administration to enhance clinical excellence.

The role requires a Registered Nurse licensed in Illinois, a Master’s degree, and 3–5 years in Neonatal ICU. BLS through AHA is required; PALS/NRP preferred. Days, 0.8 FTE, with shifts to meet department needs and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in Illinois with active credentials.
• Master’s degree required for educator role.
• 3–5 years experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit or similar area.
• Strong communication and proactive problem-solving skills.
• BLS through AHA required; PALS/NRP preferred.

Summary:

The NICU Nurse Educator is a registered professional nurse who demonstrates expertise in a specific area of clinical nursing. The Educator position is based on the needs of the patient, healthcare system and expertise of the educator. Facilitates quality activities based on identified needs to enhance excellence in clinical practice. Prioritizes these activities in accordance with patient, staff and organizational goals and objectives. Maintains standards of professional nursing. The scope of practice encompasses the use of the nursing process in major areas: practice, education, consultation and administration.

Requirements:

• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
• Master’s required.
• 3 – 5 years of experience in a specific area of expertise: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
• Exhibits personal characteristics that enhance the effectiveness of the role, including effective interpersonal communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
• BLS through AHA required.
• PALS and NRP preferred.

Work Shift Details:

Days - First Shift, 0.8 FTE Flexibility with shifts to meet the needs of the department.

The expected pay for this position is listed below: $38.08 - $47.60 The final pay rate offered may be more than the posted range based on several factors including but not limited to: licensure, certifications, work experience, education, knowledge, demonstrated abilities, internal equity, market data, and more.
