Job description

Job Summary

Serve as a clinical educator for Clinical Neurophysiology, Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, Sleep Lab and Neurodiagnostic Training Programs for EEG & Sleep. Develop and maintain the educational programs offered to the neurodiagnostic staff and community. Organize and maintain records for all student activities within the department of Neurodiagnostic Services. Also assist in coordination and monitoring of both departmental continuing education efforts and clinical orientation initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

• Coordinate a continuing medical education (CME) portfolio to improve staff skills and maintain clinical competence.
• Collaborate with senior staff and faculty to create and provide educational materials and opportunities.
• Coordinate didactic lecture series, educational curricula and CME conferences and workshops for the department.
• Assist in the planning and coordination of affiliate functions, including annual neurodiagnostic conferences.
• Partner with department leadership to maintain the EEG & Sleep Tech training programs.
• Seek feedback and evaluate the effectiveness of educational content, teaching strategies, and the learning environment.
• Design and execute orientation for new staff to the department, including development of educational materials and orientation workshops such as clinical "boot camps."
• Assist staff in obtaining professional credentials, societal volunteer activities and career growth opportunities.
• Oversee accreditation processes for training programs and assure ongoing compliance.
• Maintain annual organizational education and clinical competence records.
• Provide clinical supervision and work with preceptors to evaluate students’ practical abilities and assure they attain clinical objectives.
• Maintain student files per institutional policy.
• Participate in meetings and serve on committees (internal and external) applicable to departmental education.
• Schedule clinical assignments that assure proper exposure to different pathology and acuity levels so students achieve course objectives.
• Coordinate technical quality assurance activities for students and staff.
• Provide didactic sessions as required.
• Maintain the documentation and record‑keeping system in compliance with organizational and external agency requirements.
• Role‑model and serve as a clinical resource.
• Coach and facilitate the clinical advancement of students and staff.
• Employ a variety of interactive teaching strategies, including didactic courses, 1:1 hands‑on scanning, and lunch & learns.
• Perform job functions adhering to service principles with a customer‑service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care to patients, families, coworkers and others.
• Demonstrate knowledge of chemical disinfection, high‑level disinfection and sterilization protocols if required by the role.
• Perform other job functions as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Associate’s degree in a related field or education required; Bachelor’s preferred.
• Current CPR certification.
• Registration in two modalities such as EEG (R. EEG T.) or Evoked Potentials (R. EP T.) and certification in Long Term Monitoring (CLTM) or Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) by ABRET; or registration as a Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologist (R. NCS. T.) by AAET; or registered polysomnographic technologist (RPSGT) by Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists.
• Minimum seven years of clinical experience in a hospital setting.
• Previous experience working with students in a pediatric clinical setting preferred.
• Supervisory or clinical teaching experience preferred; effective teaching skills required.
• Clear person‑to‑person and telephone communication skills and accurate message recording.

Compensation

Pay range: $65,520.00 – $107,120.00 per year. Compensation is reviewed regularly to stay aligned with market conditions and may include additional benefits such as leadership incentives for select roles.
