Description
Under the supervision of the Director of Education and Compliance Training, the lead HHATP educator coordinates and implements the Home Health Aide Training Program (HHATP) initiatives, HHA clinical competency activities, and other organizational training programs. This position is an RN with clinical education experience, home care and classroom style education experience.

Under the supervision of the Director of Education and Compliance Training, the lead HHATP educator coordinates and implements the Home Health Aide Training Program (HHATP) initiatives, HHA clinical competency activities, and other organizational training programs. This position is an RN with clinical education experience, home care and classroom style education experience.
What you will do:
- Oversees the home health aide training program (HHATP).
- Provide clinical orientation to hospice HHAs.
- Ensure ongoing HHA clinical competency through the development and execution of annual skills assessments.
- Develop and deliver educational programs for HHAs and clinical staff, including monthly education and annual mandatory education.
- Manage academic partnerships and internal preceptorships, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Assist with general and clinical orientation as needed, ensuring compliance with Hudson Valley Hospice policies and regulatory standards.
- Respond to the organization's educational needs by providing training on new processes, patient care equipment, or addressing identified knowledge deficits.
- Evaluate educational programs and collaborate on the development of annual clinical education plans and competency evaluations.
- Collaborates with the education team in maintaining a resource library and electronic intranet system.
- Stays abreast of the latest trends and best practices in end-of-life care and participates in the dissemination of this information to staff.
- Stays current with Hudson Valley Hospice policy & procedures Federal, State and Local regulations, and accrediting bodies.

Work Environment:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Work in various home environments, nursing homes or hospitals that Hudson Valley Hospice is contracted with
- Moderate/High level of possible exposure to infectious agents.
- Moderate amount of travel by car
- Moderate to high risk of exposure to unsafe environments.
- Routine duties involve potential for direct exposure to blood or body fluids.
- Valid New York State drivers license with reliable transportation.
Education & Experience:
- Current registration as an RN in New York State.
- Preferred Certified as a Hospice Palliative Care Nurse (CHPN) or obtain certification within two years of employment
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience required
- Minimum one (1) year of home care experience required
- Valid NYS driver’s license.
Hours: Monday-Friday (8:30am-4:30pm); off hours when needed for Home Health Aide Training Program (HHATP) initiatives
FLSA: Exempt
Pay: $90,000-95,000 per year
