Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD, is seeking a Clinical Educator for the Emergency Department, Short-term Observation and float pool. This full-time day shift role focuses on delivering evidence-based nursing education and patient care within an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage care using nursing process, including patient and family education.
• Leads, delegates and mentors team members on the unit.
• Provides formal and informal education for nurses and health professionals/students.
• Oversee Float Pool and Short Stay Observation nursing staff and ED support.

Position Purpose

The Clinical Educator works in a collaborative environment at Holy Cross Health within the Emergency Department, Short-term Observation and the float pool to deliver excellent patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team providing evidence-based medicine and individualized patient care. This position is a great opportunity to work in an organization that focuses on treating the whole person physically, emotionally and spiritually.

What You Will Do

• Employment Type/ Shift: FT Days


• Using Quality Caring Model, demonstrates acceptable performance, and applies nursing process, to plan and manage care of routine patients, including patient and family education, and continuum of care planning.


• Leads, delegates and serves as a mentor to others on the team.


• Provides formal and informal education for nurses and other health professionals/students.

This posititon oversees:

• Float Pool nurses and CNA


• Short stay observation nurses


• Support ED nurses and techs

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; MSN or actively enrolled in MSN program.


• Current Registered Nurse licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State.


• Certifications aligned with area of responsibility preferred.
