Job summary

Tenet Healthcare's Metrowest Medical Center - Consolidated seeks a Nursing Educator to partner with nursing leadership to assess, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs across departments. This role will drive orientation, continuing education, and in-services to ensure staff competence and high-quality patient care.

The educator collaborates with facility leadership, mentors preceptors and residents, and aligns education with Tenet educational goals and regulatory standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, nursing education, or related specialty
  • 3 years of nursing experience in a critical care setting
  • Current state licenses and certifications

Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage nursing education programs to support orientation, ongoing competency, and professional development needs of nursing staff, aligned with the Tenet professional nursing practice model.
  • Support educational needs across assigned units and clinics through classroom instruction, clinical experiences, and learning technologies.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and support to preceptors, nurse residents, nurses, and other healthcare staff to promote professional growth and clinical excellence.
  • Develop, coordinate, and evaluate educational programs such as continuing education, in-services, specialty curricula, and professional development activities to ensure staff competence and compliance.
  • Ensure educational programs, policies, and procedures meet regulatory and professional standards, incorporating current nursing education research, adult learning principles, and quality improvement practices.
  • Performs related duties as required

Job Summary

Under the guidance of the Market Education Director, the Nursing Educator collaborates with facility/market nursing leadership and staff across departments to assess, plan, develop, implement, facilitate, evaluate, and revise educational programming for all levels of nursing personnel and non-nursing personnel as indicated or requested. The educator acts as a key resource in the orientation and continuing education of nursing staff at Tenet Healthcare. The Nursing Educator implements a comprehensive education program for his/her assigned units while following and contributing to Tenet educational goals and vision. Educational programs typically include, but are not limited to, orientation, continuing education, and in-services. Other services may include, but are not limited to, process, performance and service-delivery consultation, and contributions to the organization through councils, committees, and workgroups.
