Overview

The Clinical Education/Float Pool Supervisor will have a thorough working knowledge of departmental patient workflows and EHR policy and procedures with a focus on clinical performance improvement, training & support; develop clinical teaching tools and educational materials on a number of topics based on identified training opportunities; provide clinical instruction to nursing and medical assistant/technical personnel, adhering to the policies of the clinical setting and the Clinic. Evaluate and document progress through testing, observation, and assessment of skills attained. Communicate effectively with staff in training, managers and physicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop clinical teaching tools and educational materials on topics based on identified training opportunities; provide clinical instruction to nursing and medical assistant/technical personnel, adhering to the policies of the clinical setting and the Clinic.
  • Evaluate and document progress through testing, observation, and assessment of skills attained.
  • Communicate effectively with staff in training, managers and physicians.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Formal training which will be indicated by a graduation certificate from an accredited RN or LPN school of nursing.
  • A minimum of three years nursing experience preferred with demonstrated competence in clinical skills; previous teaching experience and/or preceptor role desired.
  • CPR certification.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; excellent interpersonal skills and verbal and written communications skills; ability to adapt training communication and style to that of multiple skill levels and audiences.
  • Working knowledge of personal computer applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge necessary to understand EHR functionality and to create learning tools and material.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy of reporting.
Physical Guidelines

Physical guidelines include the ability to move, traverse, position self, remain in a stationary position and negotiate steps for up to eight hours per day.
