Job description

Hiring a Remote Clinical ED Coder to join a growing health system. A qualified candidate will come from a clinical background and have experience as a coder in the emergency department and/or critical care space.

KPIs: 4 charts per hour.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, with flexibility on start time.

Duties Include:

  1. Perform assigned tasks (audit, coding, billing, and edit questions) in a consistent manner to ensure compliance with CMS and other regulatory guidelines.
  2. Focus on coding and documentation accuracy, researching federal and state guidelines to answer coding questions.
  3. Benchmark data and summarize conclusions.
  4. Identify trends and report them or facilitate reporting to the appropriate leader.
  5. Educate and train staff related to findings.
  6. Complete functions within defined time limits.
  7. Provide accurate and timely reports for internal and external customers.

Qualifications:

  1. Strong PowerPoint & Excel skills (Required)
  2. RN or LPN with CPC / COC / CCS / RHIT / RHIA certification (Required)
  3. HS diploma or GED
  4. Minimum of 3 years of E/M coding experience in ED or Critical Care (Required)
  5. Experience with EPIC & 3M (Required)
  6. Previous remote experience is a plus!
