Job summary

Hawai‘i Pacific Health is seeking a Clinical Documentation Specialist at Harbor Court to improve medical record quality and ensure CMS compliance while supporting reimbursement. You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, case management, and health information management staff.

Qualified applicants have a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent), an active Hawai‘i RN license, and at least five years of acute care bedside experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
• Current Hawai‘i RN license.
• Five (5) years of clinical experience in an acute care setting that includes patient bedside nursing.

Responsibilities

• Improve the overall quality of medical record documentation to ensure CMS guidelines compliance and expedited reimbursement.
• Use clinical and coding knowledge to obtain documentation through interaction with physicians, nursing staff, and care teams.
• Educate patient care team on documentation guidelines.
