Job summary

Wellington Regional Medical Center in Wellington, FL is seeking a CDI professional to lead documentation improvement efforts. This role collaborates with clinicians and coders to enhance accuracy and reimbursement, and to reflect patient severity and outcomes accurately.

The ideal candidate will have CDI certifications or be pursuing them, plus advanced clinical credentials (RN/MD) and several years in acute care CDI.

Qualifications

• Promotes a partnership between concurrent clinical reviewers, medical record coders, and physicians to improve documentation and reimbursement.
• Educates all members of the health care team on an ongoing basis.
• Supports the accuracy and completeness of the clinical information used for measuring and reporting physician and hospital outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility and accountability for improving the overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation.
• Facilitates clarification and specificity to clinical documentation through interaction with physicians to ensure appropriate reimbursement.
• Ensures documentation reflects the patient’s true severity of illness, intensity of care, and risk of mortality.

Education

MD/MBBS

RHIA/RHIT, CCS

CDI certifications (CCDS/CDIP) or within 1 year
