Communities for People (CFP) is a non-profit agency serving youth and families through community-based programs and services. We are looking for a Clinical Director of Congregate Care Programs. You will be instrumental in helping youth and families to achieve permanency, independence and integration into the community. Job Summary

Oversee all treatment aspects of CFP MA Programs as assigned. Provide clinical supervision and consultation to assigned clinical and clinical case management program staff. Ensure the highest quality of care, service, and compliance.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Clinical Responsibilities
  • Provides consistent clinical group and individual supervision to assigned clinical staff.
  • Review and approve documentation.
  • Train clinical team on agency, accreditation, contractual, and licensing protocols for clinical documentation and required timelines.
  • Oversees and ensures timely notification of referral dispositions
  • Ensures timely intake process in collaboration with appropriate treatment team members.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of Service Planning for each client.
  • Oversees scheduling, case conferences, and discharge conferences for clients in assigned programs.
  • Participates actively in staff meetings and serves as a clinical leader.
  • Assists in the training and professional development of program staff.
  • Participate in the Case Records or Utilization Management committee
  • Oversees quality of case records of assigned programs in accordance with Medicaid, DCF, and EEC standards
  • Quality of Service
  • Demonstrates fitness for team leadership in ethics, boundaries, respect, and role modeling of relationships for youth and staff
  • Promotes a culture of family-centered practices by participating in and developing family-focused events, as well as ensuring consistent communication and partnership with parents.
  • Promotes a culture of mutual accountability and high standards of practice in all programs.
  • Oversees hiring and training of a sufficiently skilled clinical workforce per agency policies and procedures.
  • Provides clear direction and feedback to staff about performance expectations/evaluations.
  • Ensures that staff are educated and skilled practitioners of the program/therapeutic models in which they work.
  • Builds staff morale, rewarding staff for effective quality improvement initiatives, quality work, and ideas that enhance the program’s and agency’s mission.
  • Oversees staff performance evaluation processes
  • Develops supervision plans with goals for all designated supervisees
  • Provide crisis management support as needed
  • Service Environment
  • Ensures programs operate in accordance with all DCF licensing, Area Lead Service Coordinator, and accreditation standards
  • Maintains and modifies program model as needed to improve care or address changes in clients or available resources with vice president’s approval.
  • Stays current regarding evolving best practices and treatment models to enhance program service delivery.
  • Promotes an environment of open communication with all stakeholders, including but not limited to: employees, families, clients, collaterals, and outside stakeholders
  • Administrative
  • Function as a member of the Residential administrative team, attending to program development, all CQI activities, and risk management plans.
  • Work closely with Area Office Service Coordinators/DYS to facilitate all intakes and discharges
  • Manage all referrals and placements, including gathering history and assessing needs of youth referred
  • To ensure programs operate in accordance with CFP’s licensing and accreditation standards
  • Develops and maintains residential on-call rotation schedule for after-hours crisis support to programs. Participates directly in rotation as needed. Establishes and maintains relevant clinical on-call procedures

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family, Social Work, or relevant field.
  • Independent licensure required.
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle required.

Experience

  • Work experience with families and youth involved in the Child Welfare system, provider community, and/or related service providers.
  • At least two years in a supervisory role within a child-welfare or MH/BH setting. Knowledge of DCF/DYS practices and policies.
