Job description

Clinical Director - Med/Surg - Full time - Days

Join to apply for the Clinical Director - Med/Surg - Full time - Days role at OakBend Medical Center.

The Clinical Director is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, patient-family centered care on the medical/surgical units, including ACE (Acute Care for the Elderly) at our Jackson Street, Williams Way, and Wharton campuses. The role includes providing staff education and training, assisting with competency validation, managing the quality of nursing care, making patient care decisions, and overseeing departmental budget and staff management.

Minimum Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Bachelor Degree preferred or equivalent experience, education, and training.

Minimum Work Experience

At least 5 years of nursing practice in an Acute Care setting and a minimum of 3 years in leadership & management roles.

Required Licenses/Certifications

Current Texas RN licensure, Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Strong interpersonal and computer skills, basic finance knowledge, leadership abilities, financial competence, excellent command of English, and the ability to work well with physicians, staff, and patients. High energy, outgoing, and proactive personality.
