Job summary

Always Best Care – Oahu is seeking a Clinical Director (Director of Nursing) to lead our clinical team and ensure high-quality in-home care and home health services for kupuna on Oʻahu. The role oversees nursing, therapy, and paraprofessional staff, ensuring licensure, certification, and accreditation standards are met.

The CD works closely with the Administrator, directs program development, and partners with referral sources to staff appropriately.

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii RN license in good standing.
• Minimum 2 years home health or home care leadership experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of Medicare Conditions of Participation, OASIS, and Hawaii home care/home health regulations.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Comfortable with technology (EMR, Microsoft 365).
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
• Must pass background check and TB screening.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise nursing, therapy, and paraprofessional field staff.
• Oversee implementation and evaluation of client care services, including licensure, certification, and accreditation standards.
• Lead client/patient intake and start-of-care planning.
• Partner with the Administrator on policy formulation, program development, and staffing adequacy.
• Develop standards that ensure safe and effective services to clients and families.
• Evaluate programs, services, and field personnel.
• Direct implementation of service goals and objectives.
• Consult with supervisors and staff regarding clients and special programs.
• Plan and coordinate with referral sources and care facilities regarding staffing needs.
• Lead staff development: orientation, in-service education, and continuing education.
• Keep personnel current on clinical best practices.
• Recruit nurses and nurse aides from schools, expos, and community events.
• Perform marketing and public relations duties on behalf of the agency.
• Establish and maintain effective channels of communication.
