Job summary

MSD is seeking a Clinical Director (Principal Scientist) to lead strategic planning and execution of late‑stage clinical research in Immunology, with responsibilities spanning IND support, trial design, monitoring and regulatory filings. The role offers hybrid work across Rahway and other US sites.

The candidate will supervise Clinical Scientists, work with cross-functional teams, and travel ~20% to advance programs and partnerships in rheumatology and autoimmune diseases.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of clinical and/or development experience.
• Experience in design and execution of phase 2 or 3 clinical trials in rheumatologic diseases is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical development strategies for immunology programs.
• Plan and oversee phase 2/3 trials in rheumatology.
• Collaborate with regulatory, statistics and manufacturing teams.
• Mentor Clinical Scientists and supervise project teams.
