The Clinical Director is responsible for providing clinical leadership and oversight for all ABA therapy services at Phoenix Behavioral Services. This position ensures that services are ethical, individualized, evidence-based, and delivered in accordance with applicable professional standards, payer requirements, and company policies.
The Clinical Director provides supervision and support to BCBAs, RBTs, and other clinical staff while working closely with clients and their families to promote meaningful progress. This position plays an important role in maintaining a strong clinical culture, supporting staff development, monitoring quality of care, and ensuring that clinical services meet the needs of each client.
Provide overall clinical leadership for ABA services provided by Phoenix Behavioral Services.
Establish and maintain high standards for quality clinical care.
Provide guidance and support to BCBAs and other clinical team members.
Ensure treatment is individualized according to each client's needs, strengths, goals, and circumstances.
Review clinical practices and provide feedback to promote effective and ethical treatment.
Assist with the development and implementation of clinical policies, procedures, and standards.
Promote collaboration among clinical staff, caregivers, and other members of the treatment team.
Provide or oversee appropriate supervision of BCBAs, RBTs, and other clinical staff in accordance with applicable requirements.
Support staff in developing effective clinical skills and professional judgment.
Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and performance support.
Assist with onboarding and training new clinical employees.
Identify opportunities for continuing education and professional development.
Address clinical concerns and assist leadership with performance-related issues when appropriate.
Oversee the development, implementation, and ongoing review of treatment plans.
Ensure clinical recommendations are supported by assessment results and ongoing data collection.
Monitor client progress and ensure treatment goals are updated as appropriate.
Review clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and quality.
Support BCBAs in addressing barriers to progress and making appropriate treatment modifications.
Participate in caregiver meetings and provide clinical guidance when needed.
Promote caregiver involvement and support families in understanding and implementing appropriate strategies.
Monitor clinical services to ensure compliance with company policies, professional standards, and payer requirements.
Maintain awareness of applicable ABA, Medicaid, insurance, and regulatory requirements.
Conduct or oversee clinical chart reviews and quality assurance activities.
Ensure required documentation is completed accurately and within established timeframes.
Assist with preparation for payer audits, credentialing requirements, and regulatory reviews.
Identify clinical or compliance concerns and work with leadership to develop appropriate corrective actions.
Maintain effective communication with clients, caregivers, employees, leadership, and other professionals involved in client care.
Work collaboratively with administrative leadership regarding staffing, scheduling, client needs, and clinic operations.
Promote a respectful, supportive, and professional work environment.
Serve as a clinical resource for staff and leadership.
Master's degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis, Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field.
Current BCBA certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
Appropriate state licensure or eligibility for licensure as required.
Experience providing ABA services to children and families.
Experience supervising BCBAs and/or RBTs.
Strong knowledge of ABA principles, assessment, treatment planning, data analysis, and behavior intervention.
Knowledge of applicable ethical standards and payer requirements.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to provide constructive feedback and effectively coach clinical staff.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary professionals.
Previous experience in a Clinical Director, Clinical Supervisor, or similar leadership role.
Experience working in an ABA clinic or center-based environment.
Experience with Medicaid and commercial insurance requirements.
Experience with clinical audits and quality assurance.
Experience developing or implementing staff training programs.
Experience supporting the growth and development of a clinical team.
